We always try to pack light and when it comes to eating we do the same. Japan is great for easy to make food. You can find great individually sized meals that are great for camping. We prefer ramen noodles. But if you go to a Japanese supermarket you can find lots of instant foods. We also added some American food. Macaroni and Cheese, Instant mashed potatoes, Lipton instant rice and noodles are also good.
Before we leave we pack our meals in individual bags.
Heres one of my favorite recipes
Turkey and stuffing
Get some canned turkey and stovetop stuffing mix. Follow the instructions on the box. Pre pack the stuffing in individual bags. With our Swedish mess kits we can boil the water for the stuffing while using the lid as a frying pan at the same time. When the stuffing is through cooking just mix in the turkey and dig in.

Brads Stuffing Recipie
There is an Interesting story behind this recipie. Brad was camping last winter at one of our favorite sites. This was a regular campground with running water, and restroom facilities. Brad set up camp and decided he would go on a mission (get beer and lots of it). This was a brilliant idea mainly because it was cold enough that you didnt need a cooler. Brad had a few beers then decided he wanted some grub. To his surprise he found out they shut the water off for the winter season. Being a resourceful individual as the Bradster is he made up the following recipie.
In Brads own words and I quote. Hey it was pretty damn good. The one thing you have to understand about Brad is that eats things that would make a billy goat puke. You can usually see him on any normal day eating Rolaids like they were candy. Well heres the recipie. Recommended under only severe conditions. I do not recommend wasting beer on preparing such things as food.
Instant stuffing mix
Canned oysters
Beer
Boil the beer and simply add the stuffing mix and the oysters and eat.
